Traduck is a translation service covering 36 languages, on the website and via API, powered by our own self-hosted, open-source translation engine.
Most translation websites are a frontend calling a commercial third-party API in the background. Traduck runs its own translation engine on its own servers — your text isn't forwarded to Google Translate, DeepL, or any similar vendor. See our blog post for the full comparison.
The Free plan gives you a real monthly quota with no credit card required. Pro and Business plans raise that quota for a flat monthly price — see exact numbers on pricing. There's also a daily quota for translating without an account at all.
No — you can translate directly on the homepage without signing up, up to a daily limit. Creating a free account raises that to a monthly quota and unlocks API access.

Yes — set the source language to "Auto-detect" on the website, or pass "source_lang": "auto" via the API.
We log enough to run the product responsibly — who made a request (for quota enforcement), the language pair and character count, and success/failure — but we don't sell translated text or use it to train third-party models. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.
Requests are sent over HTTPS, and because translation runs on our own self-hosted engine, your text never leaves infrastructure we control to reach a third-party translation API. Read more in our privacy deep-dive.
Machine translation, including ours, can make mistakes — we don't recommend relying on any automated translator for legal, medical, or safety-critical text without human review. See our Terms of Service.

The website and API stop returning translations until your quota resets — monthly for accounts, daily for anonymous use — or you upgrade your plan. No surprise overage charges.
Yes, anytime from Account → Billing. You keep full access until the end of your current billing period, then your account automatically reverts to Free.
